Luxury Meets Conscious Design
At Brijal Lad, we believe that true luxury is mindful. Every fabric we choose is selected for its
quality, sustainability, and timeless appeal—ensuring that our pieces look as good as they feel.
TENCEL™
Why We Love TENCEL™ – The Future of Sustainable Fabric
At Brijal Lad, we consider TENCEL™ one of the most innovative and responsible fabrics
available today. Created by Austrian company Lenzing, this regenerated cellulose fiber offers the
softness of cotton while being far more sustainable.
Grown with Purpose – TENCEL™ is derived from fast-growing eucalyptus trees, cultivated
on low-grade land that isn’t suitable for food crops. It requires significantly less space—just half an
acre produces one ton of fiber, whereas cotton demands at least five times as much land. Plus, no
pesticides or insecticides are needed, making it a cleaner, greener choice.
Water-Smart Production – Unlike conventional cotton, which is notoriously water-intensive,
TENCEL™ has a 65% lower water footprint. While water is used to process the wood pulp into
fiber, the production system is designed for efficiency
Closed-Loop Perfection – Over 99% of the non-toxic solvent used in TENCEL™ production
is recovered and reused, preventing waste and minimizing environmental impact. This closed-loop
process ensures that nearly nothing is discarded into waterways.
Certified Clean – TENCEL™ fibers meet the highest environmental standards, including
Oeko-Tex 100 certification, which guarantees low levels of chemicals and byproducts.
BEMBERG™
The Sustainable Cupro Fiber Transforming Western Wear
Bemberg™ is a premium regenerated cellulose fiber crafted from cotton linter, the delicate fibers
surrounding cotton seeds. Exclusively produced by Asahi Kasei, it is a one-of-a-kind material that
blends luxury with sustainability.
Unlike conventional synthetic fibers, Bemberg™ Cupro is both biodegradable and sustainably
produced in a closed-loop system, reducing waste and environmental impact. Its natural sheen,
fluidity, and skin-friendly properties make it perfect for linings, high-end dresses, and contemporary
resort wear. With a heritage of over 40 years in Indian traditional textiles like sarees and dupattas,
Bemberg™ continues to redefine sustainable luxury.
With an unwavering commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation, Bemberg™ continues to
redefine elegance—one exquisite thread at a time.
VISCOSE
A Sustainable Approach to Wood-Based Fibers
A significant portion of our woven fabrics are crafted from viscose, also known as rayon—a
regenerated fiber derived from wood pulp. While synthetic in nature, its origins are deeply rooted in
natural sources.
At Brijal Lad, we are committed to ensuring that the forests we source from are not just used, but
protected, conserved, and restored. That’s why we actively collaborate with Canopy, a leading nonprofit working to safeguard forest ecosystems. Through this partnership, we engage with suppliers,
advocate for sustainable sourcing, and ensure that every fiber we use comes from responsibly
managed forests
Additionally, we have pledged our commitment to the Changing Markets Roadmap, aligning with
global efforts to transform the viscose supply chain. Our mission is to reduce environmental impact,
promote cleaner production processes, and push for ethical sourcing practices, making sustainable
fashion a reality—not just an idea.
